D) Be aware of Japan's IVF approach
Please understand that the following statement is derived from the writer's personal observations and clinical experience at a fertility clinic in Japan. This may not be applicable to all fertility facilities in Japan.
In Japan:
The initial IVF attempt follows the basic protocol and medications. If there are repeated failures, patients are then advised to undergo examinations such as endometrial inflammation, reproductive immunology, endometrial receptivity or embryonic genetic analysis. While the initial cost may be lower, patients with potential infertility issues may end up undergoing multiple IVF attempts.
In Taiwan:
Comprehensive examinations can be conducted before any failed IVF attempt. Even during the first attempt, PGT can be performed to accurately select a chromosomally normal embryo, followed by precise implantation with the assistance of Endometrial Receptivity Analysis (ERA), which helps determine the window of implantation. By utilizing precise medical analysis, doctors and patients can proactively prevent avoidable failures, leading to a more efficient and effective path towards successful pregnancy.
